I had a couple managers ask about adding a limit for starts per week for starting pitching. If I did this it would be 7 starts per week. The reason for the rule is to prevent teams from stacking up on 15 starting pitchers and just start as many guys as possible each week. SP's obviously get more points per game than hitters do so if One teams carries 14 starters and another team carries 5 or 6 then there is an obvious advantage to the first team. So I wanted to throw this idea out there.

I once demolished a 30 team league in exactly this way with just three offensive players. They changed the rule the following season. If we don't do it now, we'll do it eventually. Better to do this one now before someone can adopt the strategy.

Yeah teams already started using it in our 14-team league. It's how The Team won the championship last year. He won K's, QS, Wins every week cause he had so many more starters. It's actually something I planned on doing just forgot to add it because I hadn't finished the rules yet.

I'm all for the rule and voted yes but not sure about 7 being the number. Is that a number most leagues use? Seems a little low but maybe will work in a big league like this since there isn't as many starters available?

I think 7 seems like a good number, there won't be many starting pitchers available after the draft.

7 is the norm for my leagues. Lets all of your guys in a 5-man SP group get one start, plus catches a couple extra starts for 2-start weeks. If everyone has a 5 man rotation, 7-8 is about as many starts as you can expect to get anyhow.

So far only half the league has voted so I'll bump it one more time.
