It has been brought up that the current CG/SO bonus of 8 points might be giving pitchers too much of an advantage over hitters. You can view the rationale here (http://elitedynastyleagues.proboards.com/thread/1859/2015-2016-rule-change-thread), but it comes down to the fact that pitchers already get points for IP (2 points per IP) and then get 4 points for a CG and 4 points for a SO. CG/SO's are not that common (only 37 pitchers in 2015 had 1, 11 of those had 2, and only 3 had 3) so this 8 point bonus might be a reward that is rarely used. So everyone knows, a complete game is 9 innings pitched, a shut out is 0 runs allowed during a complete game. So, you can have a CG without a SO, but you can't have a SO without a CG. The votes will decide...
Current model: Complete Game: 4 points Shut out: 4 points
Proposed Model: Complete Game: 0 points Shut out: 3 points
Here is an example with both scoring models so you can see how they differ: 1) Felix Hernandez strikes out 10 batters in a perfect game. Under the current model he scores 31 points, under the proposed model he scores 26 points. 2) Tim Lincecum strikes out 12 batters and allows 1 run on 1 hit (HR) in a complete game. Under the current model he scores 25.4 points, under the proposed model he scores 21.4 points.

Pitchers also lose a lot of more points for runs and hits/walks given up and have reached negative numbers after a start that reach -15 or worse which happens a lot more than complete game shutouts. I have no problem giving this rare event these days that bonus.

I'm cool with keeping it.
