Currently rookie contracts are guaranteed contracts and dropping them entails a cap hit. Some owners wish to make rookie contracts non-guaranteed.
60% of the vote to change this rule.

Just to clarify my thought, i was thinking of no cap hit when dropped in the offseason - basically non-tender the players. If you drop a player in the season, you would still be responsible for half of the current year's salary, but not future years for players on rookie deals.

I like Oakland's idea. I'm for it.

I do not like this idea at all. Minor league players with the 1 year auto-renew contract are already free drops in the off-season but when you promote a player to the big leagues that automatically gives them a 3 year deal followed by 3 years of arbitration. It most definitely should be a buyout whether in season or off-season to drop a MLB player. Also I added Seattle as a co-commish but this is still my league. I'm not really in favor of this even being voted on to be honest with ya.
