Free Agency Bidding: We had an idea of instead of just posing an overall amount you bid (example 1M), you also have to bid your years as well, (example 2 years at 1M). So for example a player would rather except a 4 year deal for $5M a year: $20m total then a 2 year deal for $7M: $14M total.
Team that posts the best deal for the player within the 24 hour period would win player.

Believe bid should be on just $...doing years also will cause a major major cluster. IMO...a guy who would bid 3 yrs @ 2M shouldn't be able to be outbid by a guy who does 4 yrs @ 2M. Might as well do blind bidding if you are going to go with years also.

Anyone know of a better system for free agency bidding that we haven't talked about?

I have one I like, but the math gets more complicated than simple multiplication of years x yearly salary to determine winner. Not much more, but enough that guys in the league have messed it up and lost FA's that the thought they won.

Phillies I really like that spread sheet. Something like that is what I was looking for. Wanted to factor in length of deal and total amount of contract. I just dont know if we will actually be able to use it or not. So with that said I think I'm just going to keep things as is and going with the AAS. It's easy and we've used it in my other league for 3 years now.

I know I'm going against the voting on this one, but for this year we will just stick with what we have and use the Average Annual Salary system. I'll still listen to other ideas and I like this spread sheet stuff and I'll look at them more but also don't want to make things too complicated either. The AAS system seems to work so why fix it if it's not broke?
