Does everyone like how the payouts are or do you think they need changed a little? My only suggestions would maybe be to pay the highest scoring team each week or maybe the highest scoring team for the year or pay the owner that had the highest scoring player. All of those ideas would obviously lower the amounts team win for winning their divisions or winning the world series, etc.
Just trying to think of ideas that could help us keep teams who aren't winning interested in the league and help us find replacements in the future. The biggest reason I've heard is I don't want to spend $50 on a bad team. I get that and that's definitely one of the challenges dynasty leagues face when looking for new owners.

What about paying the highest scoring team and the highest scoring team that lost each week a small amount. Like 2 bucks apiece or something. I haven't done the math to figure out how much that shaves off the top, but getting something back even if it is just a tiny amount would take the sting out of being a bad luck loser.

One related suggestion I would have is having a punitive soft cap...that once is exceeded you have to pay a little bit extra you can tier it off
If you go over the cap between:
0-10 mil - 1 USD for every mil over
10-20 mil - 2 USD for every mil over
20-30 mil - 4 USD for every mil over
All of this can be prorated for the amount of weeks the cap was at the level it was in case a team makes trades in the middle of the season to raise or reduce the cap.
I don't know what the Tiers would look like and in the end we can have a hard cap that can't be breached.
In the end we can sort out how the money is paid out (most likely to the crop of winners) or maybe we can setup a toilet bowl or some fun ways of paying out some more guys
Also I would propose that when an opening becomes available (or multiple as will be the case with many of the offseason when 30 teams are in play) All of the potential owners go into a pool and bid on the available rosters...if there isn't any $$ bid then it is a random draw. Any of the money can go into the same pot as the soft cap money. This is more of just a random idea...the soft cap hard cap idea is my main purpose for the post

Not bad ideas Philly. I'll definitely think about those.

I like the idea of a toilet bowl, or shave a little out of the prize fund and make it cheaper to take a bad replacement team. Like half price or 15 bucks off for the first year of being a replacement owner. This would give them a cushion to try and rebuild their team.
